5 Seconds of Summer performs at Tumblr IRL event reacting to “Youngblood” hitting to No. 1

5 Seconds of summer has been on a roll since their third consecutive album, “Youngblood” has rolled out. Fans of this Australian pop rock band are praising the album as the band debut at #1 on the top of Billboard 200 albums chart with ‘Youngblood.’

The album was released via One Mode/Capitol Records on June 15. Till the week ending of June 21, the band arrives at the top with 142,000 album units earned with 117,000 in traditional album sales. The Carters from the couple Beyonce and Jay-Z finish behind from 5 Seconds of Summer as well as Nas& Christina Aguilera.

So after the fierce promotion of their new album which resulted in them being the third consecutive No. 1 on the chart, the band served the fans with their intimate and soulful performance at Tumblr IRL event at Brooklyn’s National Sawdust Space.

The fans were seen lining in front of Williamsburg venue since the previous evening. The crew hit the stage a little after eight in the evening with Ashton Irwin entering first followed by his band-mates seeing which fans went crazy. The band opened with “She Looks So Perfect.”

The band sang past hits like ‘Amnesia’ and some new Youngblood Tracks like ‘Moving Along,’ ‘Talk Fast’ & ‘Valentine.’ The pop-rock group also got the chance to directly talk to their fans about their latest release. 5SOS’ bassist Calum inform the crowd, “We have recently released an album and we yesterday found out it’s charting No. 1. So every person who has contributed to this band, bought the album, listened to it, we want to say thank you, thank you, thank you. We love you very much.”

After which the band’s guitarist Michael Clifford added, “This is going to sound weird, but we're at present No. 1 on Billboard 200. No matter what the number is or whatever number we get for any of our albums doesn’t matter. What matters is the connection we make with our fans.”
