Many artists converged to their social accounts to remember and pay respect to the man while some honored Vinnie during their live on stage. One was Avenged Sevenfold who took the time to honor the drummer. The crew set the montage of films of Vinnie set to the song “Walk” from Pantera band.
“Hail to The King” was later dedicated to Paul by Mr. Shadows as he said, “Most of our buddies we were in Belgium yesterday night. When I woke up, I woke up to the worst text msg about Vinnie Paul passing away. There is nothing much we could do.” Further, he told the audience, “We all know that this life we have is brief, we all grasp very well that our friends are gonna go at some point. All all of us can do is honor him the best as we can. Tonight we will do that for Vinnie Paul by playing ‘Hail To The Fuckin’ King.’”
Megadeth commemorated the drummer by playing ‘My Last Words’ through over the weekend at France’s Hellfest. Dave Mustaine said, “The next song which we are gonna do for you, we played it yesterday night for the first time in nearly twenty years. We all haven’t played this song for so long and we honor it to a very old buddy of mine, of ours who passed away. The song is dedicated to you Paul. The song is ‘My Last Words.’
Somewhere else, Sebastian Bach dedicated ‘Cemetery Gates’ from Pantera at his gig at Pyramid Cabaret in Winnipeg, Canada. The drummer’s name was written on the drum kit. Watch below:
